The Lion King SteelBook

I am excited The Lion King is available on Collectible SteelBook at Best Buy! The Lion King SteelBook is available October 22! My family, and I have been waiting for The Lion King to be released on DVD so we can watch it on family movie night. While we love going to the movies, it is also fun to watch movies in the comfort of your own home.

We wanted the SteelBook version because of the artwork. And cannot wait to display our copy of The Lion King. Each side of the cover has different pictures to display. The inside of the cover show Simbaa and Zazu. I have never owned a DVD before that paid this much attention to detail.

For those of you who have yet to see The Lion King. The Lion King is a fantasy drama film is a computer-animated remake of the 1994 animated Disney film. Jon Favreau directs. Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, John Oliver, Beyoncé lend their voices. James Earl Jones returns as Mufasa. A young lion named Simba returns from exile in adulthood. Ready to reclaim the throne stolen from him and his father by his treacherous uncle. The Lion King is a musical and features songs from the original film. It also features two new songs. Beyoncé performs the song “Spirit” and Elton John preforms “Never Too Late”. I am happy that the original songs remained in the film. My children love the music from The Lion King.

I loved the Lion King because while staying true to the original it felt like a different movie. The animation was amazing. It looked like a live-action movie. Seriously, I could not tell they animated it. The Lion King looked real. I liked was the overall feel of the movie. The Lion King was dramatic when it needed to be yet it was funny. I loved the scenes with Timon and Pumbaa were hilarious. John Oliver as Zazu was a great choice.

The Lion King had something to offer for the entire family. I liked how Favreau updated the film to please adults and children alike. My kids found Timon, Pumbaa, and Zazu to be funny. As the parent it was nice to hear some familiar voices of some talented comedians.

The music was familiar yet different. I believe the music in the 2019 version was better than the original. The soundtrack helped immerse me in the film. The vocals were perfection as was the entire score.

My family and I loved Timon and Pumbaa. Personally they were my favorite characters. Because they were so funny. My youngest loved Simba. From the first time she saw Simba on screen she thought he was adorable. And he was. I still cannot believe how amazing the animation and music was.

The Lion King is the perfect movie for family night! My entire family loved it. It captivated our youngest who barely spoke a word throughout the film. Our seventeen-year-old even watched The Lion King and stayed off his phone which says a lot!

For me as a mom this means I can play it via Amazon Prime or iTunes on my phone or tablet. This is great for when we are driving somewhere and I need to entertain my youngest.
